Review Of DEA Kratom Public Comments Shows Strong Support Among Vets, Doctors, Cops And Seniors For Coffee-Like Herb

American Kratom Association and American Coalition of Free Citizens, Washington, DC

Feb 02, 2017, 15:52 ET

99.1% of 23,116 Comment Filers Supported Kratom and Opposed DEA Ban; Vets Seen as 18% of Filers Mentioning Profession, While Seniors Accounted for 21% Where Age Mentioned.

WASHINGTONFeb. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — When the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) asked for public comments late last year about its plan to impose what amounted to a ban on the coffee-like herb kratom, they may not have been prepared for both the volume of comments (23,116) and the overwhelming opposition to a ban (99.1 percent).  A new analysis by the American Kratom Association (AKA) and American Coalition of Free Citizens (ACFC) reviewed every one of the comments submitted to the DEA prior to the conclusion of its public comment period on December 1, 2016.

The AKA/ACFC found several things that the DEA most likely was not expecting to see:

  • Overview of key groups.  Among those listing a profession, nearly half (48 percent) were veterans, law enforcement officials, health care professionals, and scientists.  (This reflected a total of 1175 out of 2416 comments with profession-related information.)  These groups came down strong in favor of kratom and against a ban 754 versus 9 … for a pro-kratom support level of 98.7 percent.
  • Veterans.  Those who served in the military were a large contingent among those mentioning their profession. The 449 self-identified veterans accounted for 448 comments, or 18 percent of the 2416 indicating a professional work/background.  Veterans supported kratom by a margin of 448 to 1, or 99.8 percent.
  • Health care professionals. The 576 self-identified medical professionals in the survey also came down strongly in support of kratom.  These current and retired doctors, nurses, and other  medical professionals supported kratom by a margin of 569 to 7, or 98.8 percent.
  • Older Americans.  On age, a total of 3811 comment filers indicate how old they are.  In this group, 806 (21 percent) were 55 or older.  Older American supported kratom by a margin of 805 to 1, or 99.9 percent.

Susan Ash, director, American Kratom Association and Jason Jeffers, president, American Coalition of Free Citizens said: “The face of kratom consumers is the face of America today.  Our groups partnered-up to examine all of the public comments to DEA on the kratom ban because we were curious about who was responding and what they had to say.  What we found is a kratom community of responsible consumers who look just like your family and the people who live next door. The results speak for themselves:  99 percent of those who comment, do not want the federal government to police the natural herb called kratom.”

Katie Lair, research and communications director, American Coalition of Free Citizens, said: “The most curious thing about the public comments is that there were so few responses actually supporting the DEA.  Only 113 people out of 23,116 commented in support of the DEA proposal to ban kratom.   When you have so much anti-kratom propaganda circulating at the state level and misleading talk of a public health crisis, one would expect more public comments in support of what the DEA is trying to do.  To have just 113 people nationwide support the DEA is remarkable for a campaign like this to determine whether something should be banned for the entire nation. The topline finding is obvious: There is no public appetite for banning kratom and continued fierce opposition can be expected by anyone who cares to do so.”

For this research, medical professional was defined as “medical doctors, registered nurses, psychiatrists, speech therapists and EMTs and trained first responders.”

The American Kratom Association led the charge when the DEA opened a public comment period running through December 1, 2016.  Of the more than 23,000 comments submitted before the deadline closed, the Web site created by AKA was responsible for 16,379 comments – roughly 71 percent of total comments received at (The campaign Web site is now inactive.)

The findings released today by the two groups are consisted with data released by AKA in a November 2016 online survey of 105 emergency room (ER)/trauma health care professionals that found zero reported cases of deaths related to kratom. The new poll of America’s front-line medical professionals also uncovered precisely zero percent support among those surveyed for a DEA ban on the coffee-like herb kratom.

A major analysis by Dr. Jack Henningfield, Ph.D., vice president of Research, Health Policy, and Abuse Liability at PinneyAssociates, for the American Kratom Association found that there is “insufficient evidence” for the DEA to ban or otherwise restrict the coffee-like herb kratom under the Controlled Substances Act.  According to the comprehensive Henningfield report, kratom has little potential for abuse and dependence – as low or lower than such widely used and unscheduled substances as “nutmeg, hops, St. John’s Wort, chamomile, guarana, and kola nut.”

  1. Wow if there is one drug that I cannot figure out how to properly dose with the first time trying, it is Kratom. I have done preliminary research but cant decide how much I should be ordering off the internet. Some have varieties such as super, or super premium, some sell powdered but in capsules, others as dried foliage.

My goal here is to use a relatively low dose the first time to experiment with its effects before deciding if I need to increase dose in subsequent trials. Due to all the various techniques and types of kratom that are being advertised online, I dont know where to start with what I should order. Should I take it by oral capsule, or steep it into tea? How many grams would be considered a light first time dose? Should I order premium, super premium, super, extra strength, or just regular kratom?
I need a recommendation from someone with more experience

it is best to titrate your dose with tea the first time

take 5 or 10 gms of powdered or shredded leaf (if you are opioid tolerant you may need even more), steep it in hot water for 15 mins, drink it slowly over the course of 30 mins to an hour. stop when you feel good or if you start to get dizzy/nauseous, and note how much of the tea you’ve drank. now multiply that fraction by however much kratom you steeped, and you know a good dose for e.g. capsules or “toss and wash”
that way you dont choke back a bunch of capsules only to realize you dosed way too high and end up spewing everywhere and feeling really shitty.

^^^^ That sounds like a pretty damn good method. Otherwise I’d maybe email the site your ordering from and ask just how strong the kratom your ordering is, as well as just ordering said sites standard kratom. (if it’s your first time I don’t see any need to get the strongest stuff)

The problem with dosing kratom is that all of the “premium”, “super premium” etc. grades are completely arbitrary. The same goes for the so called strains like “Maeng Da” and “Red Vein”. There is some difference, sure, but most of the nominal differences are just about marketing. Without sourcing, which is against the TOS, we would have no idea how strong what you’re receiving actually is. My experience is that a lot of the times, “regular” is almost as strong as whatever they say their best is. My best advice would be to just start slow and titrate upwards.

As far as ROAs go, I personally just plug and chug (tbuy bulk powder, put it in a spoon, swallow it and wash it down with water or some other beverage). However, I have a very strong stomach, so I don’t know how much I would recommend this to most people. Tea seems like the most innocuous way, but the problem is the water-solubility of the alkaloids in kratom. They’re somewhat soluble in water, but don’t just steep for 3 mins like regular tea; steeping for more like 20 is better. It will be bitter, but that’s just how it is. You could go pills, but then you would have to wait a little but for the outside to dissolve, so titration would be harder.

Kratom is an enigmatic drug. I don’t know that there have been any fatal overdoses due to it (I believe people have died on it, but have always had other drugs more attributable to the OD in their systems). However, you can end up feel pretty nauseous from taking too much.

TL;DR: I’d just buy some of their regular powdered strain. Then (if you can) plug and chug about 3-5 grams. Wait about 20 minutes. See how you feel. Rinse and repeat.

Thank you for the responses everyone. I am going to order some and experiment, anecdotes seem to convey only a vague sense of what this drug does to you so I guess trying it myself is the next step. Dosage information is what I really needed clarification on.

I would recommend 2.5-5 grams for the first time. Any higher and you risk side effects.

Personally, after over 6 months of use, I still often just take 2.5-3grams. A friend of mine prefers the 4.5-6gram range (he also has worse side effects: i.e. frustration & irritability). My wife hates the drug at any dose. The point is that it may vary from person to person. I would start low and take your time learning how this drug effects you.

My question about dosage is in terms of daily use. I’ve been getting the powder of all sorts white vein, Bali, and
have been using it daily for about 2 months. I’m starting out with 4 grams in the morning, then 4 early afternoon,
then 4 again in the evening. Since I’m tossing and washing, (yuuuuuuk!!)tossing it with a spoon, im not sure how accurate this is but it would be safe to say I’m doing 12-14 grams over the course of a day. I have read posts about “doses”, but
not so many about daily use. So I’d like to know if I’m in the moderate range or am I doing too much. The euphoric effects
are nice but when I wake up I feel like shit for a couple of hours, so I don’t know if the benefits outweigh this.
Night sweats are noticeable, other variables being since I’m a female, is this a function of menopause as well? And I’m pretty sure I’m hard pressed to find anyone who could elaborate on this, but I’d greatly appreciate it if someone could. What makes more complicated is having 3 weeks out from a reasonable taper off hydrocodone, and 1 week a per off an antidepressa

A Modest Proposal for Ending the Opiate Addiction Epidemic

by Editor |September 30, 2017 |0 Comments | Kratom News | , , , ,

The story below is a situation that affects so many good american family’s , their children and so on.

A modest proposal for ending the opiate addiction epidemic

When there is a health crisis like the epidemic of opioid drug addiction, which has even morphed in many cases into a heroin addiction epidemic, why must the solution be limited to another synthetic drug?

To the general public, especially those victims of the addiction epidemic, this looks like a “gimme” to the pharmaceutical industry. We have a perfectly acceptable, uniquely affordable and time-tested product being used right now, called Kratom. The FDA is well aware of it. I have heard from an industry insider (Michael McGuffin) that the FDA’s concern with legal Kratom is its addiction potential.

No, that’s not a joke!

If addiction is the FDA’s issue, shouldn’t coffee bear the same warnings about habituation and dependency? From the rough overview I have done of the Kratom community, the concensus is that most consumers have no need to increase the doses they use for pain control, and they experience no significant symptoms of withdrawal when they stop.

The FDA currently allows many addictive pharmaceutical products to be marketed and sold in the U.S.; why should one more be a problem? Especially one that has zero potential for lethality by itself and is causing no particular drug interaction issues?

Time is wasting for the many drug addicts who would love to get clean, but the barrier that scares them off is the well-known withdrawal agony. Kratom is known for taming this fearsome ordeal, so why don’t we let it?

People are dying from prescription drug interactions and overdoses. How can the FDA say that addiction to Kratom, if it even exists, is worse than death by overdose?

“Addiction to Kratom” is a laughable term for those who have used and quit the herb repeatedly. Addiction, like beauty, is in the mind of the beholder. Many people who have legally become addicted to narcotics will be pleased to find the few and minor side-effects of Kratom compared to opiates and opioids. There are effective ways to manage these few insignificant negatives.

Meanwhile, In the Ole Miss Laboratory…

I am watching with amusement as Dr. Christopher R. McCurdy works with insufficient funding to turn Kratom into another single-ingredient pharmaceutical drug, as a safer replacement for methadone. His work to show the inherent safety of the herb itself is valuable. It should be sufficient, by itself, to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of Kratom for immediate use by those wishing to quit opiates or opioid drugs.

Refining Kratom down to one key alkaloid may or may not have the same safety as the natural herb, which contains not only opioid agonist activity, but also opioid receptor antagonists. This perhaps accounts for the reduced tendency for true addiction with Kratom.

We are waiting for the pharmaceutical industry to have a profitable opportunity to solve the problem they created. Meanwhile, their dishonest marketing of oxycodone as having very low addiction potential has caused many deaths. These are people who could have been saved by letting them know of Kratom’s effectiveness as an addiction recovery tool.

Admittedly, Kratom is a problem child by FDA standards. Like any herb, there are concerns about cleanliness, adulteration with synthetic drugs (a rare occurrence in my experience), and uniformity. All these factors need to be addressed, but they pale in importance to the cost of addiction, untreated pain, and personal loss when there is a death by overdose.

It is interesting, amusing even, to watch the CDC’s response to the crisis. Pain patients and their advocates want more opioids prescribed and those agencies & businesses who are paying for the drugs want to restrict access. All the while no one is considering the third option: Kratom.

It’s too bad we, the Kratom advocates, are not allowed a seat at the table. From what I have seen and heard in the Kratom community, this botanical does a much better job at taking care of pain, helping to get patients off narcotics, not requiring ever-increasing doses to provide relief; and providing the cost savings the corporate managers want. What’s not to like?

Actually, the only ones losing out in this proposed solution to the addiction crisis caused by the pharmaceutical industry are the industry leaders themselves and the heroin dealers…seems very fair to me.

A OPMS Kratom Review, buying cheap kratom extract in florida

by Editor |September 30, 2017 |0 Comments | Kratom Info, Kratom News | , , , , , ,

Kratom extract benefits your body and fitness in several ways. It has lately become popular in the US and many European countries. Kratom is full of alkaloids and other potent natural elements that promote your health and help you get rid of long-term pain, like joint-pain and so on. There are two ways, as of now, in which the kratom is obtained from its original plant.

The extract is a powder, which is highly potent than the crushed leaves of kratom. It is made by boiling the large quantity of the leaves of a plant Mitragyna Speciosa until it is compressed to small smooth rocks. Then, these blocks are crushed and converted into powder form. The extract is highly powerful and it shouldn’t be used on daily basis. To reduce its potency, a little amount of regular powder is mixed into it, and the whole product is then called as enhanced kratom.

There are a number of kratom extract suppliers available online. Gold Reserve, OPMs Kratom, and 15x Kratom Extract are to name a few. In this post, we’ll review these three suppliers and try to locate the best and affordable one amongst all.

Golden Reserve Kratom

Golden Reserve Kratom is known to be the strongest kratom extract. It gives faster results and it sometimes works as an analgesic. It is an effective product, if you want to get rid of chronic pain. However, the Golden Reserve extract is more expensive than the other brands available in the market today. Many consumers have reported withdrawal symptoms, and it also has a bit of unpalatable taste and smell.

Better options to Gold Reserve

Gold Reserve is not the standalone manufacturer. There are others in completion, which holds better reviews than Gold Reserve. Some of them are listed below.

O.P.M.S Kratom

Although there are various manufacturers, O.P.M.S is the best Kratom (according to one online reviews) sale of 2014. It has excellent effect for anxiety, pain relief, treating addiction euphoria. However, it is also expensive and it has major counter effects. Surprisingly, these effects are more than similar products. Probably, it may lead to side effects and tolerance. Its strongest effect is because of its process of manufacturing. It preserves almost 95% of the alkaloid content of the leaf. The brand does not disclose the concentration as others vendors do, like 15x and others. An acronym O.P.M.S itself indicates its working mechanism i.e. it works as opium.

I wrote a review on O.P.M.S. liquid a few months ago ( ), at the time it was definitely the strongest Kratom extract I’ve encountered. O.P.M.S. also sells Kratom extract pills, I haven’t bothered experimenting with them much since I thought the liquid was the best. I tried the pills again a couple weeks ago and found out they were much stronger than the liquid, making them the strongest Kratom product I’ve encountered. From what I’ve been told, O.P.M.S. isolates and extracts 7-hydroxymitragynine instead of doing a full spectrum extract, which may explain why the feeling from these pills is so powerful. The feeling is nearly indistinguishable from pharmaceutical Opiates like Hydrocodone and Oxycodone, perhaps the only difference is these O.P.M.S. pills are far more sedating than pharmaceutical opiates.

Each packet comes with 3 pills. The first time I tried them a long time ago I took 1 pill at a time and got decent experiences, nothing mind blowing. Once I finally took all 3 at once and the experience was mind blowing. During the first hour you get higher and higher, tons of euphoria, warmth, and even a good amount of motivation so you get stuff done. Whatever you do during this time will be much more enjoyable than usual, the world becomes perfect. 45 minutes to 1.5 hours after dosing the sedation and opioid effects get so strong you have to lie down in bed, you would be extremely dizzy if you were walking around.

Hulu Kapuas Kratom: Origin, Types, And Effects

If you are tired of all regular Kratom strains and want something new, here is something which is new for to use. Hulu Kapuas Kratom is a less prominent strain which helps you to overcome many everyday problems.

This strain is something which is as stimulatory as coffee and as relaxing as herbal tea. For people who want a switch from the daily Kratom strains, Hulu Kapuas is something which works differently than the rest. Here is how it works for the user.

Origin of Hulu Kapuas Kratom

Borneo islandHulu Kapuas Kratom is just the regular Mitragyna speciosa. It is just a modification of typical Kratom. It is the famous Southeast Asian tree which has miraculous properties.

Hulu Kapuas grows in a thick forest of Indonesia which is near to Borneo island.

It has its name in the dense forest of Hulu which is famous for its Kratom vegetation. Hulu forest has its location on the banks of river Kapuas.

Kapuas river flows next to the Malaysian border. The area has no native locality which means no has direct access to the Hulu Kapuas Kratom. Only the big Kratom dealers make access to it, and only a few of them sells it online.

Why is it so rare to find?

The river bank of Hulu is practically an isolated area. Finding any native population is scarce. Despite that Hulu, Kapuas is an ancient species, but the majority of people don’t know about it.

The reason is that it is tough for people to obtain it. Only a few people have access to it which sell it to some leading Kra

tom vendors. That is the reason why it is so rare to find.

The second factor is that it is only the mature leaves of Kratom tree which make the fine Hulu Kapuas powder. It makes it even harder to stock Hulu Kapuas powder for the vendors. For this reason, they don’t always have it available for the users.

rare to find hulu kapuas

Chemical makeup of Hulu Kapuas strain

The bioactive compounds which give the unusual properties to all Kratom trees are called alkaloids. They are so many, and each one of them gives a different effect.

The principal alkaloids are mitragynine and 7-hydroxy mitragynine which together provide more than half of the effects of it. Up till now, there are only 15 unknown and various unknown alkaloids which make up the list. [23]

Some of these known alkaloids dominant in Hulu Kapuas Kratom tea are as follows.

  • 7-acetoxy mitragynine
  • 3-Isopaynanthein
  • Corynantheidin
  • 3-Dehydromitragynin
  • Epicatechin
  • Corynoxein
  • 3-Isocorynantheidin
  • Corinoxin
  • Mitraciliatin
  • Paynanthein
  • Isomitraphyllin
  • Mitrafolin
  • Mitraphylline
  • Mitragynine
  • Mitraspecin
  • Speciogynin
  • Mitraversin
  • Speciofolin
  • Specionoxein

All these alkaloids are present in different concentrations as per different leaf vein color. Each one of this alkaloid list has a different effect. This effect sometimes becomes dominant or recessive in case of a different color of leaves.

Chemical makeup of Hulu Kapuas strain

What are the types of Hulu Kapuas leaves?

In any case, if any someone doesn’t know, all Kratom leaves are of three kinds. Hulu Kapuas leaves also follow their categorization. They have three particular types.

  1. Red Hulu Kapuas
  2. Green Hulu Kapuas
  3. White Hulu Kapuas

The significant difference between these three categories is of their leaf appearance. By appearance, it means that they look different from each other.

The typical plant leaf has visible green lines which are called veins. In case of Kratom, the leaves have not just green veins but also red and white veins. It gives a different look to them which is even recognizable from the naked eye

  • Red Hulu Kapuas leaves

Red Hulu Kapuas leaves has a high content of 7 hydroxy mitragynine which makes it an excellent analgesic strain.

It also turns a better stress relief aid than green and white strains. The red strain is not a good nootropic support, and dynamic element and this property are more with green, and white Hulu Kapuas leaves.

    Red Hulu Kapuas leaves

  • White Hulu Kapuas leaves

White Hulu Kapuas leaves have less amount of 7 Hydroxy Mitragynine in them, but it has other alkaloids in high quantities. It is useful for treating stress, depression, panic attacks and building energy.

They are the best nootropics for routine use. Most of the users who need nootropic assistance use white Hulu Kapuas Kratom. It is best for using early morning. Pain reliefof Hulu Kapuas is less efficient than all others.

What is Kratom , Another Defition from another perspective

by Editor |September 18, 2017 |0 Comments | Kratom News | , , , , , , ,

What is kratom?

Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a tropical evergreen tree in the coffee family. It’s native to Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, and other South Asian countries. The leaves, or extracts from the leaves, have been used as a stimulant and a sedative. It’s also been reported for treating chronic pain, digestive ailments, and as an aid for withdrawal from opium dependence.

However, there have not been enough clinical trials to help understand the health effects of kratom. It also hasn’t been approved for medical use. Read on to learn about what is known about kratom.

The Future , is only real when we work @ it

Is it legal?

Kratom is legal in the United States. However, it’s not legal in Thailand, Australia, Malaysia, and several European Union countries.

In the United States, kratom is usually marketed as an alternative medicine. You can find it in stores that sell supplements and alternative medicines.

Why and how do people use it?

At low doses, kratom has been reported to work like a stimulant. People who have used low doses generally report having more energy, being more alert, and feeling more sociable. At high doses, kratom has been reported as being sedative, producing euphoric effects, and dulling emotions and sensations.

The main active ingredients of kratom are the alkaloids mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. There is evidence that these alkaloids can have analgesic (pain relieving), anti-inflammatory, or muscle relaxant effects. For this reason, kratom is often used to ease symptoms of fibromyalgia.

The plant’s dark green leaves are usually dried and either crushed or powdered. You can find fortified kratom powders, usually green or light brown in color. These powders also contain extracts from other plants.

Kratom is also available in paste, capsule, and tablet form. In the United States, kratom is mostly brewed as a tea for the self-management of pain and opioid withdrawal.

Stimulant effects

According to the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA), a small dose that produces stimulant effects is just a few grams. The effects usually happen within 10 minutes after ingesting it and can last up to 1 1/2 hours. These effects can include:

  • alertness
  • sociability
  • giddiness
  • reduced motor coordination

Sedative effects

A larger dose of between 10 and 25 grams of dried leaves can cause a sedative effect, with feelings of calmness and euphoria. This could last for up to six hours.

Why is it controversial?

Kratom hasn’t been studied in-depth, so it hasn’t officially been recommended for medical use. Clinical studies are very important for the development of new drugs. Studies help to identify consistently harmful effects and harmful interactions with other drugs. These studies also help to identify dosages that are effective yet not dangerous.

Kratom has the potential to have a strong effect on the body. Kratom contains almost as many alkaloids as opium and hallucinogenic mushrooms. Alkaloids have a strong physical effect on humans. While some of these effects can be positive, others can be causes for concern. This is all the more reason why more studies of this drug are needed.

Results from one study confirmed the addictive properties of mitragynine, the major psychoactive alkaloid of kratom. Dependence can often cause side effects like nausea, sweating, tremors, the inability to sleep, and hallucinations.

Also, the production of kratom hasn’t been regulated. The FDA does not monitor the safety or purity of herbs. There are no established standards for safely producing this drug.
